Pete Theobald, keyboard and brass player in the Bursledon Village Band first joined way back in the late 1970’s. Since then he has played with Pendragon, The Winchester Barn Dance Co. and Albatross Pie before rejoining the BVB in 2004. When he was first with us he restricted himself to the Euphonium but now in later life he plays the Tuba. Pete is also our keyboard player.

He has played for barn dances in numerous village halls the length and breadth of Hampshire as well as Sidmouth, Whitby, Wimborne, Bideford, Cecil Sharp House and at Folk in the Fall on the South Bank.

Recently retired from teaching in a junior school, Pete now directs the rest of his energies into writing and arranging music for West Meon Theatre and Winchester Musicals and Opera Society. He has written and arranged music for Shakespeare plays as well as Cider with Rosie, Oh What A Lovely War and pantomimes as well as Tess of the Durbevilles and Beowulf for the Lion and Unicorn Players, Petersfield. He also plays euphonium in the Thornden Community Wind Band. Every now and again he plays golf.

Pete provides an endless source of strange humour and can be relied on to mess up any hand-clapping routine.
